Rangoonwala Training Centre
We engage in a range of capacity building initiatives across our programme verticals. The Rangoonwala Training Centre (RTC) anchors this. It enables value addition to our work through external expertise, which our multi locational Community Centers and Programmes find difficult to access. The Training Centre is also the place for centralized, pan-organizational activities. RTC’s planned calendar balances the different components it is mandated for.
Our Activities
Entrepreneurship Development
Vocational trainings at our Community Centres integrate entrepreneurship enabling components. This gives multi tasking women, who are a majority of our trainees, the opportunity to earn incomes combined with flexibility. RTC further hones these skills through inputs on further skill building, product development, sourcing, packaging, costing , pricing and marketing and also gives women platforms to exhibit their skills and sell their products/ offer their services. Women masseurs, mehendi artists, hand embroidery, jewelry and warli artisans, caterers etc. are entrepreneurs RTC continuously works with.
Training of Trainers
Capacity building through training of trainers(TOTs), who then conduct trainings/ activities at our Community Centres and through our outreach work is a dedicated focus of RTC. Other Organizations join our TOTs, specially related to our campaigns and also for replication of our Community Centre model. Regular TOTs are for our Satark Patients Rights, TB and Chronic Kidney Disease awareness campaigns, our outreach work on health awareness, street plays and prior to new activities / trainings being launched at our Community Centres .
In-House Trainings and Activities
RTC provides the centralized space for internal monthly planning and review meetings, annual reviews and planning for our programmes , capacity building of our Volunteer Cadre, monthly special input sessions related to our Computer based trainings, training and activity module reviews and reworking, monthly get together of senior citizens from all our Community Centres.
